On Wednesday, 11 June 2025, the New Zealand Ukraine Business Association (NZUBA), in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, hosted a special event in Auckland to formally sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions.

Held at the Auckland Business Chamber, the evening brought together leaders from across government, business, and the Ukrainian-New Zealand community to mark a milestone in deepening bilateral economic engagement.
The event featured keynote remarks from:
H.E. Vasyl Myroshnychenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia and New Zealand
Simon Bridges, Chief Executive, Auckland Business Chamber
Dr Olga Dodd, Co-Founder, NZUBA
Simon Court MP, representing the ACT Party
The programme highlighted Ukraine’s resilience and potential as a global business partner, particularly in the context of recovery and reconstruction. A key feature of the evening was the introduction of CODE.UA, a Ukrainian government-backed initiative aimed at promoting Ukraine’s digital economy and IT sector globally.
The formal signing of the MoU between NZUBA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine marks an important step in establishing a framework for closer collaboration in trade, investment, innovation, and private sector engagement. The agreement affirms a shared commitment to fostering business-led connections between New Zealand and Ukraine.
The event concluded with a networking reception, providing an opportunity for meaningful dialogue and connections among stakeholders.
NZUBA extends its sincere thanks to all who attended and supported the event. We look forward to continuing to grow the commercial relationship between New Zealand and Ukraine in the months and years ahead.
